About

French composer Gabriel Legros showed interest in music at an early age. Born in Paris, Gabriel began studying voice at age 5, soon followed by the guitar and the piano.

In high school, Gabriel attended the prestigious “Collège du Léman” boarding school in Switzerland, where he fell in love with composition. When composing, Gabriel aims at exploring narratives, showcasing the innate essence of their subjects through musical devices. His works have been the recipient of several awards, including the 2024 Manhattan Chorale Ensemble’s “New Music for New York” competition, and the 2025 airborne extended commission prize. Gabriel is also passionate about electronic music, and frequently scores for film.

An avid performer, Gabriel has performed as a soloist and choral singer in various countries and venues.

Gabriel is currently pursuing his undergraduate degree at Manhattan School of Music. His teachers and mentors include Dr. Reiko Füting, Dr. Wayne Oquin, and Máximo Flugelman.
